Nylon
Nylons or polyamides is the first and largest volume in the group of engineering plastics. It is a combination of properties which include high strength, ductility, wear and abrasion resistance, low permeability, and good chemical resistance (to oils and greases, solvents, and bases). Nylons are used in almost all industries and markets. Largest single market is in transportation. Application in emmission canisters, wire jackets, gears for windshield wipers, and speedometers. Other uses are in plugs, bearings, pumps and packaging meats and cheese.
