HDPE
High Density Polyethylene is a highly crystalline, light-weight resin. Outstanding characteristics include chemical resistance, toughness with relatively high softening temperature. HDPE is processed by melt forming methods such as film extrusion (grocery bags, can liners, food packaging, rigid and semi-rigid multi wall bag liners). Other uses are for pipes, wire and cable insulation, and corrugated tubing and pipe. Higher melt index grades are used for injection molding (food containers, housewares, caps, and closures). Major application is blow-molding, for industrial drums, detergent bottles, oil tanks and toys.
